Dancing on the Edge of the Volcano

 The Dance
Back to Full Blog

Just with a thought, a glance
We begin the lover's dance
Give ourselves that one chance

Locking eyes, one beating heart
Much too hard to move apart
Hesitant, not sure, stop and start

Sometimes straying slightly off course
Feeling an unbreakable force
Knowing our hearts are the source

Over us wash the waves of passion
Stealing our breath, there's interaction
Our souls collide in a chain reaction.

HeatherScot - love your posts. Do you write these? If so, you have tremendous insight into life and I thank you for sharing - blessings, june

Yep, June...these posts are all my creations...whatever mood strikes. Unfortunately, most of the really good stuff starts putting itself together in my mind as I am falling to sleep at night and I promise myself I will remember it in the morning...but when I wake up, life has already chased it away. I had something REALLY good in my head as I was falling asleep last night...but I'll be darned if I can remember it now.

That was a good poem Heather. I like to walk up to the edge and just think about life.

Thank you Daisy! I am upset that most of the poems start in my head as I am going to sleep at night...and by morning they are gone. No one ever sees them.

Well if you're dancing life must be good.... it scares the hell out of me.

"Dancing on the Edge of the Volcano".... I always liked that blog title!
But about the lines coming at night, that happens a lot to me, too. If I don't turn on the light and write them down (in the notebook I've learned to keep on the nightstand) they're gone. Sometimes I've thought, Oh no way I'll forget that, but... morning comes and the thought is gone.
