Up and Gone

It wasn't what you thought and dreamed
All those years of hope and plans
All those days and nights you schemed
To meet your heart's demands

There you stand empty and numb
Not knowing where to turn
Running to or running from
Was this for what you yearn?

Looking at the shambles laying
Where you thought was home
Past events are just decaying
In the dust, the dirt, the loam
